My name is Nicholas Porto. I founded the Porto Law Firm because I believe that there is a better way to practice law. To me, this means providing clients with a realistic expectation regarding their legal matter and, importantly, a predictable amount of costs. It also means that if I am lucky enough to be retained by a client, I provide the client with constant access, no matter day or night. I pride myself in the fact that most of my clients have become my closest friends.
I am a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. I attended Rockhurst High School, the University of Missouri-Columbia, and the University of Missouri Kansas-City School of Law, where I served as literary editor of the UMKC Law Review. Upon my graduation from law school, I completed a one-year judicial clerkship in the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit of Jackson County, Missouri. I then spent several years at a prominent Kansas City litigation firm. In 2011, I realized a lifelong dream and founded the Porto Law Firm. I am also an adjunct professor at Penn Valley Community College, where I teach tort and contract law. I currently reside in the Kansas City area with my wife, Christina, and three children: Rosemary, Charlie, and Agnes.
